Starting off on the wrong foot

Ok, I realize that I am about to make myself very vulnerable to the ridicule of everyone, but the story is just so unbelievable it needs to be shared.

Over the past few months I have been doing steady out of town work for one of our clients. Up until now I have flown to all our destinations, however, this month their semenar is in Dallas and driving is the chosen method of transportation. So last week after 2-3 weeks of preperation with the A/V geeks and the presenters, I load up all my gear, borrow the bosses truck, and drive all the way to Dallas. Shortly after arriving, I call my contact to ask him where to unload. I am met with slince, followed by,"are you serious", followed by,"the semenar is NEXT WEEK."                            WTF!                       How in the world could I talk with a half dozen people for over 2 weeks, and end up driving 6 hours a week early! Even after having time to contimplate this, I still do not understand how no one noticed. This is my personal Twilight Zone episode.

So, I am currently posting from the beautiful Hilton hotel in Dallas, TX (on the correct week). Feel free to laugh, some how I feel that I deserve it, but I don't know why.

Long Live Our Liberal Future

OMG mercy on us!

Ok, so the other day I was thinking about the gay rights and abortion issues. I know many people think that it is a person's right to chose what is best for themselves. I obviously do not feel this way and was trying to figure out where you draw the line, or if there even is one, if that is your philosophy. I kinda thought I had figured out where the line was (silly me), and just today had all that ripped apart. Dare I say, it made me even more glad to be a "conservative right wing extremist" if this is where the other side is headed. So here is the link to the article:

Not that everyone didn't already know that Europe is circling the bowl. Especially those freakin Dutch.

Windows Vista Beta 2

Ok, for those of you that are interested I am going to post a screenshot from the Vista Beta 2 that I am messing around with and give you my brief thoughts on it. Many Mac lovers will say, "Mac already has that" for just about everything.... but I don't care who had it first, so no comments of that nature please.

First off, I like it. It has a great look (despite the system hog that it is, I'll mention that later). The fogged glass is very nice touch, at least for microsoft. The window animations are clean and brief and the new alt+tab rocks. You get live thumbnails of all your pages, not only with alt+tab but if you mouse over the buttons in the task bar you get the same effect.

The new file browsing made me cry for joy. As you can see in the screen shot you can not only jump to any parent folder, but to any child folder of any parent folder. This is obviously Windows response to Apples column browsing, and I think that it kicks column browsings butt. (I have been using OSX at work for a month now, and the column thing just doesn't do it for me)

Obviously, explorer couldn't put off the public any longer and finally added tab browsing, yeah for them. Also drawing from public demand they have native widgets as you can see in the images right hand side. These are detachable as well.

Over all it has been very stable. No freezes or crashes, which isn't bad for a beta. Also they have a link that you can send suggestions on improvements. (Hopefully they read them) They also have a new "sleep" mode that pretty much shuts your computer down, but only takes 4-6 seconds to start up. Very handy.

The bad news, it eats up your RAM and if you want to have the graphics at max (glass, fog and animation) you have to have a mid level machine. Also I installed the 64 bit version but I haven't been able to do any preformance tests.

There is a lot more than what is here, but I can't type that much. Enjoy the pic and ask questions if you have them.

Why... why... why...

Its just not fair... I am so FREEEEEEKING nice!  So after making my previous post about mercilessly ripping other peoples blogs to shreds, I hasten my way on over to good ol' swoggies site for a little practice. (He is an easy target after all) After making a totally and amazing and unbelievable and wicked slam post (I could go on, but why boast and I think I already overused the word "and"), I felt an immediate rush of guilt. I quickly raced over to Dan-the-Man's page to suppress my feelings with more outrageously perfect hate comments, but was stopped dead at the thought of my little friend crying himself to sleep after reading what would have been the most snappish post ever. Then outa nowhere, I started to feel like female genitalia... I knew immediately that this had to end. I couldn't do it, why... because I am so FREEEEEEKING nice! May it be a compliment to all my friends, that I love you all soooo much that I can't even be mean in jest... except to Tom (he is just to easy). So fear not blog people, I shall not visit your sites with malicious intent but with love and support (except for Tom... oh and Megan, but then she is not my friend so its fair game)
